Officine Panerai

Difficult to answer, Tuscanii.

To this question.

I know some much older tritium dials which still glowed in the dark, and some others which didn't.

There are a lot of factors which are important to consider:

What kind of tritium?

T < 25 or T Swiss T, this last one, being, if I remember well, less strong that T Swiss < 25?

what is the composition of the tiritium used on watches at this moment?

The History of Tritium is a very long and interesting one, which will lead us to the impossibility to generalise their impact in time, when it comes to luminosity or patina.

Look at what happens with some Rolex, let's take a reference from the same year.

A 1675 from 77 or 78, for example.

In many cases, none will have the same patina or the the same " glowing " in the dark.

A tough but captivating question, indeed.
