I agree and since it comes straight from.....
the Egiziano the "diving" tag comes with it. At that time, the dives were "down and up" and at depths that didn't require..safety stops or decompression stops (if they did they were serious stuff). At the time the 024A came out they....exsisted 
A multilevel dive i.e. up and down and up and sideways, requires a "safety stop" at 5 or 3 meters. The length of the safety stop varies between the 3 and 5 minutes (90% of the cases). So a graded bezel tells you EXACTELY how long was the stop

The first modern Panerai was highly tempting, with its smooth polished bezel, and its dial. The only thing I regretted was the presence of the date and its magnifier. For the rest, it is a really lovely watch. As often, compared to some modern Submersible...
Personally, I always liked this design...
It’s the bezel that is the single best feature. Panerai should have evolved and used this design more over the years.

the bezel is fixed, in the sense that it doesn't turn, right? Sorry but the last I saw...live...was a long, long time ago
I have tried to double check....
and have found out that the 024B-C-D etc have a rotating bezel. I haven't found any new about the 24A. The investigation continues..hahaha
The very clean bezel (without the 10 or 15 minutes markers)
already disqualifies the 24A from the dive watches list So much so that realizing the "faux pas", the 024B HAS the 15 minutes markers where they should be
