To me the submersible is a modern iteration of the Luminor line of watches, from vintage to Pre-Vendome and finally to the Vendome era. The carbotech submersible is by far one of the more interesting one.
What is the quintessential modern Panerai?
I am reading myself a bit into the history of Panerai and was wondering if you guys could tell me what youtm think is the most interessting modern panerai? I kinda like the 372 so far. Thanks
I would say the Submersible Carbotech
Because it is still a Panerai but a new Panerai. A kind of symbol of a new page. Fx

The 372 is....
indeed a "powerful" Panerai model. Some other models that fit that bill: PAM232....249...587 and similar models. All 47mm, manual wound and no bells&whistles.
Its hard to say without considering the product lines . Here are my favorites per product line. Modern with history
Radiomir : 721; 210 if u want something smaller Radiomir 1940: 662 Luminor 1950: 127 alternativ 673
Radiomir (wire lugs): PAM 721, Radiomir (solid lugs): PAM 662 cont'd.
Luminor (vintage style G. Panerai e Figlio): PAM 372 Luminor (Pre-Vendome Style): 5218-201A

I think of it like a no date, two line submariner. Everything else is built around the basic form/ideal.

that's NOT a modern Panerai. It's a present time's "re-edition" of a classic Panerai
