Officine Panerai

I believe letter means year of the model

Sometimes on a limited edition piece that gets produced in low quantities but production is spreadout over several years, the case is usually still numbered with the original letter of when the model debutted even if the piece finally made its way to the retail channel a year or 2 after the first pieces made their way to the public.

So if Panerai didn't finish their original 500 pieces from the 1st year, the pieces produced in the 2nd year will still have same letter bearing from the original 1st year.

On regular edition pieces, if 500 were made in in Year A, then the next 500 (assuming watch is still produced in Year B w/ no increase in production amount) would have B series classifcation.

Someone please correct me if I'm wrong.  Thanks!
