I, on the other hand, find the 629 intriguing...
but it certainly looks like an...hommage...I think, I kind of like it but will reserve my judgement until after I'll see it live.

with you that on a Luminor, the Cali dial looks way...way...ODD. The watch looks positively "squat" and ungainly but....the word intriguing superseeds "ugly" in my mind, still

Hello guys, I don't know why Anthony is against idea of putting Cali face (1936) on 1950. I just made my choice and sent order form to my Panerai dealer. I hope I have a chance to get a very good discount. If someone is after 629 feel free to contact me.

on my list a few years ago when the 375 was released... but since then the brand has really grown (in a different direction)... the 629 just looks odd and I have had many Cali dials... there is a market for these pieces as Panerai keeps releasing versions...

I saw these in the metal this morning
But it disturbs me as I think the movement is a little too small for the watch. The seconds dial next to the "9" is a departure from the clean look of Panerai\'s past. Just my humble opinion.

Unfortunately only the "ladies" Panerai fits my wrist comfortable. So while I have owned some, I\'m now just standing and admiring from a distance

The 617 is not bad at all, is just that my days with Panerai has passed. But the 629 just doesn\'t look right to me. But again, very keen to see it in metal, hopefully sometime next week Best, Sam
