I got Paneritis around 2005/2006...
in Singapore. I didn't have any mentor initiating me to the fantastic world of Panerai. By the time I "understood" the 2002A had ballooned out of my reach. Also the price of the 36 (which I got to know (reading your post on these pages) was pretty high. But it was only ridiculous, instead of outrageous. A reseller had it, in Singapore and I kept it "in view" throught his site, regularly. After 1 whole year, having lost any hope of it losing value, I approached the man and after a ferocious negotiation (Persian bazaar's style) I had to pay by check, because my credit card (at that time) didn't cover the cost. Know what I mean? Ridiculous 
P,S. the cost of a 202A, was TRIPLE that of the 36/.

If the 202A had not been, already inside the bubble, so high, that picture could have been mine! I NEVER lost any sleep over the model. Drool, by the bowl load, sleep? NO. For "that kind of money" I would have probably topped it up some and went straight ...
