I have stopped buying watches a while ago....
and before that, the last time I bought a regular production model, I was still wearing sort pants 
I've had some 35-40 Panerais (I still own some 25 of them) and the only "tragic one" I had was a first-production-year 233. At the time I was traveling like a crazed moth (for business, to be sure) and the second time I had to adjust the time zone (the 233 is a GMT) I almost opened the hotel window and tossed it out (luckily the window didn't open and I offloaded it to a work collegue for an amount of money that describing as "rediculous" would be a euphemism)

Blancpain is in another level for some of their models! Panerai will announce new subs at SIHH soon so we shall see
