During my recent trip to Marroco, I met an old guy, who immediately became a good friend...
This is a special Paneristi, and a true one, with impeccable taste and knowledge....
Let me introduce him ( or should I say ..her ) to you.
No, no This is not the New Panerai CEO...LOL
So, the Turtle, ( this is hes name ) teached me a lot of things about Panerai...
This is not a recent brand, she told me.
Panerai existed way before 1997, and made very nice watches.
" Naaah " she said, adding imediately: " Tourbillon are not for me..Not my kind of life!"...
( Can you see her dsapoointment in her eyes? )
" I much prefer these old things" she explained to me....
I asked her what kind of old things she speaking to me....
She just answered: " Hey , you, do you need glasses?" ...
She had a smile on her face...
"Look at what I'm wearing right now"!...
I was looking at her 4 wrists, and didn't notice anything...
" Look here, just here, you bloody tourist"!!!"
So,after doing a quick search, I finally had the chance to see two of the most marvellous Panerai that the Officine Firenze made in its whole History...

I was stuck at her carapace, and wanted to ask, in an approximative marrocan, if she wouldn't care if I put them on my wrist...
She answerede, laughting to me, " Of course, you bloody French Tourist, of course you can, you will feel the power of a true watch"!
So, I did it...
" Look " She Said " Even the Camels are thinking that these watches are made for you "...
Damn, she's right...
And there wer many camels to look at me...A bit embarassing!
" So, now you feel and get the power of these watches?" she asked...
And I Thought I knew all about Panerai...LOL
This new friend gave me a great lesson, conform to the legendary oriental wiseness..." Never go away form your roots"...
I asked her if she wanted to go to Paris for a GTT ( Get Turtle Together ), and she answered " No way, you Naaardin French, you didn't get it...Do never go away from your roots"...
" But if one day you colme back, I'll let you play with them"...
Well, I hope you'll enjoy this little Maroccan tale, I think that I abused a lot of the Marrocan speciality, and that I lost a bit my head...
Nicolas, the only moderator who speaks to Turtles...LOL
