I have to agree that the 339 is the...odd man out.
It's not a bad model, just a little weird, that's all. I still suspect that they used (controversially) the MM on the 339 because of the composite's case. They must have thought the MM would have made it...appealing. In my case they...won the bet...LOLLLL...
