Panerai & Non-Profit "Sailing Heals" Offers Days of Respite to Palm Beach Cancer Patients

Palm Beach, FL – March 2012 – Officine Panerai, the leading Italian high-end watchmaker, is celebrating the recent opening of their new boutique on Palm Beach’s Worth Avenue by offering a day of respite on the open water in a beautiful classic sailing vessel for patients of The Cancer Institute at Good Samaritan Medical Center and their caretakers, as well as local clients of national support non-profit organization CancerCare , under the burgee of newly-formed non-profit organization Sailing Heals.

PANERAI CELEBRATES PALM BEACH BOUTIQUE OPENING WITH SAILING HEALS

Sailing event to offer a day of respite to cancer patients and their families

Patients and their loved ones from these two organizations will join the Panerai North America team and Sailing Heals for a recuperative day on the water. During the sail, participants will enjoy a nutritious, Italian-inspired lunch aboard a classic sailing yacht as well as plenty of healthy camaraderie and fun. If they are feeling adventurous, perhaps they will take part in helming the sailboat or rigging a sail, it’s all up to them.

Founded in partnership with Officine Panerai North America, Sailing Heals was formed in 2011 in conjunction with the North American Circuit of the Panerai Classic Yachts Challenge, which is held every summer in New England, as a way to give back to the cities and towns which so generously welcome the sea-loving brand and its classing sailing regattas into their communities each year. This year Panerai decided to expand their respite sails into South Florida in celebration of Panerai’s new boutiques in that region and as a way to give back to those area residents who have suffered a health setback. Panerai and Sailing Heals are pleased to be able to extend the rejuvenating benefits that a day on the sea can offer to those in need to the good people of Palm Beach.

“As a leading regional cancer center, Good Samaritan Medical Center is dedicated to providing medical excellence to our patients and their families,” said Mark Nosacka, CEO of Good Samaritan Medical Center. “Our mission, and the philosophy of our caregivers, aligns with Sailing Heals. Our goal is to help restore health and hope, with support and compassion. We are extremely excited about this opportunity to celebrate life on the beautiful open waters of South Florida with cancer patients and their physicians and staff. I thoroughly respect the work of Sailing Heals.”

Helen Miller, CEO of CancerCare added, “CancerCare is thrilled to partner with Panerai and Sailing Heals to provide an opportunity for our clients to experience the healing effect of being on the water surrounded by nature and the empathy of others.”
