Panerai presents the combination of a high-tech material, ceramic, and a
Panerai movement entirely developed and produced in the manufacture in
Neuchâtel: the hand-wound P.2002/3 calibre.
Ceramic has for some years established itself as a material of choice in the world of haute horlogerie for its appearance, its hardness and its resistance to scratches, corrosive agents and high temperatures. The synthetic ceramic used by Officine Panerai for the case of the Radiomir 8 Days Ceramica – 45 mm is zirconium oxide (ZrO2), a material obtained through a process of isostatic pressure on the material in powder form, which results in a particularly uniform, even appearance.
The Panerai hand-wound P.2002/3 calibre has a power reserve of eight days and it is notable for its three spring barrels and the linear power reserve indicator on the dial. As well as the date at 3 o’clock, the calibre also has the device which enables the hour hand to be rapidly adjusted without interfering with the movement of the minute hand.
The Radiomir 8 Days Ceramica – 45 mm has a completely black appearance, both in its ceramic cushion case and its dial with the characteristic sandwich construction, as well as in the buffalo leather strap closed by a titanium buckle with DLC (diamond-like carbon) coating. The back too is consistent with this appearance, having a smoked sapphire crystal window through which the movement can be seen. All the characteristic elements of the dial – the large figures and hour markers, the hands and the small seconds dial at 9 o’clock, the date window and the linear power reserve indicator – are covered with a layer of special ecru Super-LumiNova®. Produced in only 500 units, the Radiomir 8 Days Ceramica – 45 mm(PAM00384) is part of the Historic Collection.
Technical Specifications
Movement: Hand-wound mechanical, Panerai P2002/3 calibre, executed entirely by Panerai. 13¾ lignes, 6.6 mm thick, 21 jewels, monometallic Glucydur® balance, 28,800 alternations/hour, KIF Parechoc® anti-shock device. Power reserve 8 days, 3 barrels. 225 components.
Functions: Hours, minutes, small seconds, date, linear power reserve indicator.
Case: Diameter 45 mm, black ceramic, with removable wire loop strap attachments (patented). Screw-down winding crown personalized OP.
Bezel: Black ceramic.
Back: See-through smoked sapphire crystal.
Dial: Black with luminous Arabic numerals and hour markers. Date at 3 o’clock, seconds at 9 o’clock, linear power reserve indicator at 6 o’clock.
Crystal: Sapphire, formed of corundum, 2 mm thick. Anti-reflective coating.
Water- resistance: 10 bar (~100 metres).
Strap: Panerai personalised leather strap and large-size titanium buckle with special hard black coating.

Be 1000%, or move on! This is the same case as back in 2006 when OP played the same game with the 249/262 duo. Years later i could still find the 262 BNIB at AD's all over! No one wanted them. Which is sad and i figured OP should have learnt their lesson ...

Really like this watch, BUT...
...are the days of the domed crystal over, at least at a "reasonable" price? I prefer this font to that of the 372, but a true dome a la the 127 or 233 would make it over-the-top for me. I hope to get to see one.

I still think the 292 looks a little cleaner on the dial. Maybe these will drop a little on the grey market. I was hoping for a 47mm 292, with p3000, display back with 9 instead of sub sec. They did it in gold though which is also very handsome.
I doubt a display back will be available on the PAM292
Ceramic models seem to only have display back when the movement inside is one of the in-house movements, so I don't think a PAM292 w/ display back will ever happen. But then you never know - Panerai may surprise us one day. Cheers, Anthony

I think I love that one the most of all The non limited 1950 base is nice, so is the 1950 composite but this green dial with bronze case ..... what a stunning combination !

I have requested my AD in UAE to allocate one piece to me. I find it just the right size, hue and the case color. Since i dont wear gold watches this would be a perfect suppliment to that and off course one need not to mention the uniqueness of this time ...

May be I am too purist but ... Look at the movement size compared to case size - they are not matched that ruins watch's historical proportions: 1. second circle on the dial stands overly far from number "3"; 2. metal back case is overly wide to hide idle...
