Sorry to dig up an old thread...

 

Hey guys, I just got a 384 and was changing the straps myself when I noticed that the wire loops on the buckle side of the watch had a short tube attached to one wire loop, which seems to be meant to hold both wire loop ends together in the strap. I was pretty surprised when there was nothing like that when I pulled the loops on the long strap side. Checked the old strap, didn't look like I left anything behind. The new straps (before I put them on), had no such metal tubes. Is this normal

Finally got myself my first Panerai, couldn't resist the good deal i got during my trip to Germany. After a long struggle i'm finally a proud owner of a Pam287. The OEM strap looks good and dressy on my Pam287 but i've always been a fan of vintage straps ...

In every case the strap looks like it was the special one that fit the watch perfectly. Only here you have thre perfect fits. The first one is unique. I can't pinpoint its origin. Thanks Bill

Thanks for all the pics and advices guys, i've already order 2 straps...gonna take abit before it gets delivered...a dread waiting for it to come. I'm actually looking at a 2nd panerai already...contagious..saw a Pam242 in the same AD i bought my 287 from...
