That's pretty cool, a back story is nice.
My preference is for these "original" Luminor cases, bertillini if I recall correctly is what people call them. I say "original" as these were what the commercial Panerai produced. Subsequent changes, the 1950 case etc never appealed as much. I think because when I think of Panerai I only see the early days. My brain never adjusted to the expanding and growing Panerai!
