That's not correct....
they didn't JUST cross. The first Panerai, the second, third and so on, until 1993 were all ROLEXES, with the exception of the..dial (but the dial of the first Panerai produced was ALSO the Rolex's "California" one. The Rolex model 3646 was produced EXCLUSIVELY for Panerai. That's the ONLY time Rolex did that for anybody. Panerai just took care of the water proofing of the watches and the luminescence of the dial through (Radium). The only Panerai MADE by Panerai (100%) is the GPF2/56 "Egiziano" (ordered by the Egyptian Navy) for which Panerai used the case of the case of their...under water compass and the Angelus 240 movement with 8DD power reserve

Historically both have a lot in common. But I know that true paneristi are quite „special“ about that. Maybe I should prefer my 111 instead... But the Radiomirs fit a lot better my small wrists 😉
