You've entered a..mine-field....
There's nothing wrong in an ETA-UNITAS movement. The only problem is the...cost...which is pretty low (per unit) and for the "horological" purists, doesn't belong in a watch that costs several thousands of USDollars. The principle behind is that a more refined...sophisticated..better finished OWN movement, would be more palatable. Panerai is leaving the...heroic/epic/historical phase (that's when you bought a Panerai for what it "meant") and entering the...commercial . That's why, most of the present day models and future ones, will encase "house movements". A chappie that is...tossing the coin...between a Panerai and a JLC, doesn't want an ETA inside

I suppose they have reached the....anything goes....stage, until some of the models will not meet the favour of the public and will fade away. I still will buy the one I...like...anyway

I think they are brilliant and a throw back in terms of price and aesthetic to the pre V it works out at £3600. I would buy at this price, ETA....you paneristis always love DNA LOL!!! I get the spring bars too...just like vintage Panerai (read Rolex) The ...

You might want to consider a...001A with T dial, to go along with your 22A....
a REAL Tritium model with a...copy Tritium...one, shouldn't mix IMO ...
What's wrong with ETA?
I\'m no way near being a watch expert, but isn\'t an ETA a very reliable, workhorse engine? So what\'s wrong when it\'s put inside a workhorse watch with closed case back? Can you compare an ETA movement with early Rolex movements? Quality wise?

But technically speaking: what is the (big) difference in quality between a solid ETA movement and a (vintage) Rolex movement? (talking closed case back watches) And if you talk about cost: how much cheaper is an ETA movement compared to a Rolex movement?...

consists in the....perceprion...not cold, hard facts The perception is that a 200€ ETA is worth less than an "in house movement", that's all. In certain cases IT IS, in several others....no, IMO
