The vintage handset looks much more proportionate than the new one IMO.
And it's not just that they're short relative to the overall case size and dial, but that they appear disproportionate (length of hour hand relative to length of minute hand).
The more I look....
Seems that the hour hand got the same size as the subsecond hand on other version, lol! π But idk, I prefer this one cz it's easy to differentiate between the minute and hour hand now as sometimes I got confused with mine while reading the time in a glanc...

Next year probably they going to produce one with gilt black waffle dial, and platinum case... And it's out of my reach π

personally i like the subsecond subdial version. IMHO the hour hand seems too short on the other version - or is it only me ?! Best, mahesh.,
I agree, visually it seems too short....
But so does the minute hand, but I wonder if this is just an optical illusion due to the minute markers being so close to the center of the dial instead of back where we are used to them. Obviously just a design choice, but the dial seems sort of βoffβ. ...
I think these two watches are brilliant...

Was hoping to see the one like in the video and shared press picture then look what it is live in basel (credits from IG) They still can't stand to not ruin it! The only thing that need to be elongated is the hour hand not the second hand... Oh why....? H...

Yuck. The hour hand is way too stubby. It should at least be long enough to touch the tip of the dagger hour markers.
This is the Omega version of the Rolex hour hand debacle when they released the Explorer I in 39 mm diameter for the first time. That hour hand was way too small as well.
Even worse is the elongated seconds hand. Hard to believe Omega . . .
. . . couldn't get a matter this obviously wrong sorted out. Perhaps these are mock-ups awaiting correction in the production process. Art
