Agree with OP. So much is just a copy of Rolex design language which is lazy, no matter how you slice it. Cheapens the watches. Rather than them being special in their own right they serve as callbacks to their competitor.
I am stuck with the trilogy Omega 1957, there is the original seamster. I did wear it just a few times, to me a new release has to be for now, contemporary. Enough 50-60's. 😄
walk in and you find a diver or speedmaster in stock pretty much always. History may be after a point can't be over played (I am still stuck with the trilogy 1957 I did wear just the seamaster a few times but all are too small, nostalgic) let's live in th...
I know I wouldn’t, I’m patiently waiting for the real deal. Patience is a virtue! But sure, we’re all different. Why not work on developing a new speed master from ground up, as Rolex did, not just upgrading the existing one? Oh because it’s cheaper to ri...
with caliber 3861 was launched just last year I think ...the new models have this movement and the speedmaster 1957 has a new manual movement if I am not mistaken. Now, about patience being a virtue I agree with you but only for people that have a relatio...
The chrono movement is just upgraded not new. Would you buy a Resonance looking watch just because you can’t get the real thing? I’m sure not, and you’re not alone. As for the new enthusiast, not be able to buy a Daytona, let me tell you that they can, si...
at least in Switzerland, allocations are made by retailers (e.g. Bucherer) and not by Rolex. This is also stated officially in the Rolex website. It is always possible to be lucky and get a Daytona without any buying history (I frankly don't know since I ...
As for comparison, I wasn’t comparing the Speedy to Daytona, apples and oranges, I was talking about the shameless color copies of the new models... From Omega, I would expect a totally new Speedmaster(since they pulled all the imaginable skins of it with...
Is this about the gold/rubber strap speedmaster? I think in the metal won't look at all like the daytona (moonshine gold yeah!) but I get your point. I am a fan 😄 Why ? Even with a very strong relationship with the Rolex AD I do not like at all the market...
I’m just a small Mickey Mouse in this gigantic horological field, and I buy what I like and I can get! If I’m told No I’ll take it and move on, just that simple! To be honest I’m at the end in buying anything new, since the majority of the watch industry ...
Happy with the pieces I got, several omega including 50th anniversary, 321, first man in space gold etc. (even the first snoopy that, the world being what it is, I don't want to let it out of the safe for now). Mine was more of a reflection for these that...

Speedmaster in Sedna Gold with black dial and perhaps will add it to my collection. For me this is a gorgeous watch. And even our Art (Dr. No) was torn between this beauty and the Ed White he finally ordered. But I have to confess the new version with gre...
Still not the best solution though. Best is to not have a date. In this case, it’s all about the dial after all. I like the ultra deep in terms of concept and dial design but i agree with several members here in that if i’m gonna have that kind of a watch...
but I don't think they take buyers from those mentioned watches, but I like those new releases. I think that those will also be waiting list watches, I may also be wrong. It wouldn't the first time
