Blancpain: It's true, my last Aqualung strap didn't last that long but it was worth it. Love the way the huge holes in the strap keep things cool and dries so fast after coming out of the water

The answer is the rubber strap from the 500 Fathoms which has a lot of ports for water and cooling but in rubber which seems to do better than the sailcloth. Sadly the rubber strap for the 45mm and Bathyscaphe didn't get the same treatment. I don't love the way the nato makes the watch sit a little

Independents: DB aftersales has been excellent and I think the screwdown crown is just for the "dive" watches?

My DB28 has been to service twice, the first time for dirt / debris on the inside of the dial from (maybe) going in the water with the crown out. Oops! The did a full cleaning gratis (I paid shipping) and had they watch back to me in maybe 4 months. The second service was after WB had completed the
