Since they messed with the sub dial hands, why not have 20mm lug size? By and large, this is the first Basel 2012 that "sings to me" and is wearable (39mm). Cheers, Nilo

The same press release contains this "pearl": " legendary self-winding calibre 1861 " (on the specs they corrected that). Also on the specs, they state that the lug size is 19mm and the 16mm on the clasp and the case diameter is 39.70mm (thanks Omega!). A...

It has a deep resonance. There are no gimmicky touches, at least at first glance. I'd like to see more photos, but the initial impressions are of real substance. In contrast to some other recently released pieces, it has the look of something hat will sti... 

This is the most strong and authentic NEW version of the Speedy I've ever seen. I am actually excited to see it in person--and I am not a Speedy guy. To me, there are vastly too many versions, like the ROO and RO, etc etc but once in a while, despite the ... 

looks about as good as you could reasonably hope for. Straight lugs, no crown guard, clean dial, alpha hands, slightly smaller case size, even the 19mm lug spacing is true to the original. The purists may point out that it's sapphire, not plexi, and that ... 

Everybody is mentioning the straight lugs but, to be completely honest, in that single picture, I see the later caved-in lugs....Am I the only one? ...nonetheless I agree it is a very nice looking homage to the 2998

whatever that means??? But yeah, Omegas limited editions are still essentially unlimited. I've looked at the pic of this watch quite a lot. I think it is a modern Omega to own.

They messed up the hands. Still, the case size is attractive at 39.7mm. What I cannot get pass is the price - it costs almost 7,000 in Sterling. Too expensive!

That's what he said - close to 7,000 GBP. I think there is a lot of 'oomph' in a PAM 372. Also, bear in mind that at 7,000 GBP that could give you a very nice vintage Speedy plus some spare change. The reference 145.012, 105.012, 105.003. You name it, you...
