Omega

Advice? The short answer is walk away

For me, the equation is pretty simple.  Are there reasons to make me question the watch?  Is there something unique about it enough to make it desirable even if the doubts prove true?  Unless I get two yes answers, walk away.

Vintage Omegas are relatively common; you can find another that will appear the same.  The markings on the face may have value to you, making the answer to the second question above closer to yes.

The fact that the movement may have a base plate that is uniquely marked, may have the same effect.

Note that the font on the movement serial number is larger than typical.  The direct answer to your question is that I have never seen anything like it.

I have seen a lot of unexplained Omega oddities, but they did not range this far from normal practice.
