i mentioned this to Tim by pm last night, but
didnt want to sound deprecating on open forum. i think that is one of the
problems of an Omega service. if the hands are bad they'll do a complete change
and this set have been the standard since 1966.

i spoke to my watchmaker this morning and NOS
correct centre sec hands are available if Tim wants to change it. it wont look
out of place as the others are nicely white.

i found several 64's with the wrong second hand,
but with aged hands so a NOS change wasnt possible or it would look
odd.

Tim, great watch, but are you aware that the centre sec hand is incorrect?
the hand you have comes from the 145.012(the assymetric) from 1966. very common problem it seems. dont know why, but perhaps they get damaged easily. the way to tell it to look at the bottom end of the hand and compare it to mine. yours is fatter and flat...

. . . is it probable that the entire handset has been replaced at some time? I can't tell much of a difference in age between the various hands . . . curiously, Art
