Brown Sugar

Not a huge fan of sensorship of art, music or literature, and some "erasures" would be rather counterproductive to the cause of the sensors. Makes things look a bit more pretty than reality can vouch for.

I was aware that "Brown Sugar" is somewhat misunderstood, but that perspective never really matched up with their take on stuff like that, how they pictured their musical references and heroes. Belive they have always added a rather critical perspective to some of their lyrics even early on (Mother's little helper). I can fully understand the reaction against the perceived understanding, but not at all for the intentions and meaning according to Stones. "Undercover" is perhaps a more recent example and it didn't stop with that one either.

How close or afar the following is from fact is not for me to say, just meat on the bone: www.songfacts.com
