I have a Mark IV already, maybe that's why I love the design already: I'll get 1 of each
I'll of course have to see it in the flesh. The original "Marks" have a great dial, in terms of coating treatment and lighting. Thus I will have to see how it looks like in the metal. But if it is as good as the original version is, I think I could go for...

my only thought MTF is that the MKII came out in 1969 i believe so 2014 is 45 years, a reasonably round number for an anniversary, the MKIV came out in early 70's so its 40th anniversary would have been recently. just a thought G

. . . is a revision of the original Mk II, which I once owned (and one of the very earliest models, too, produced in '69). Different movement, but externally quite similar. Art

On the pictures, the casework appears to be grey, but in the text only stainless steel is mentioned. I therefore assume that only the picture colours are a bit misleading. Marcus

Slightly disappointed to see the Valjoux 7753-offspring ...
... cal. 3330 used. However, this is a rather logical choice, since the movement height is not of large importance in this case (pun intended), and I have the impression that the thin cal. 3313 is slowly phased out. I just do not like the lack of a date q...
a very faithful re edition on the outside and modernity on the inside.

I love this re-edition!
I am an absolute cushion/barrel case shape fan and vintage Omegas are very cool anyway, so this is a great piece in my opinion..but as Dr. No mentions, I was also wondering at the potential of a Mark II with 1861...that would be something :) warm regards,...

I dont think so Dr No , in that case would be more attractive for me , anyway I would try to get an original one in good condition (rather easy to find I think)...I am not very fond of re editions though I agree that this is a really nice one All the best...

The 69 style with modern internals is very appealing. I can't imagine what people thought of the original when it was released with florescent hands and markers...!! Can't wait to see it in the flesh.... and also some live pics next week. Yours, Andy.

. . . when it was released, Andy? Well, the person I got mine from also had a '67 Speedy Pro, purchased new in Canada. He'd just acquired the classic, and two years later jumped on the Mk II. No higher tribute can be paid . . .
