. . . just as I was about to leave for the remainder of the day, and only now having time to reply.

The movement number would indicate mid-'30s production.  Dennison cases are unique in having the serial number engraved on both the case and back, which confirms whether a back was originally issued with a particular case.  It's difficult to see in these photos . . .










. . . but the numbers 635856 are engraved on both, confirming they were issued together.

The personally interesting aspect of your question relates to the letter 'M'.  Where is it found?  On the case, or the movement?

Photos would be helpful.
