. . . from the seller. Apparently the owner is a retired USN officer who inherited it from his father, also a USN officer. Perhaps he was stationed in Germany right after the war . . . if that turns out to be the case, then it's possible the watch has always been in his family.

Oh, I'm ok - the bank where my safe deposit box is located . . .
