I feel that some brands have cheapened their base lines in order to cut costs and its apparent. Some brands have raised prices while the Rolex market continues to dominate and there is no supply at retail. Omega has really stepped into the quality and val... 

I think of this model the same as you. It is a very pleasurable, polyvalent and historically inspired design, but with modern great quality. What size did you get? It looks like the 39mm which I’ve been looking with increasing interest. My first gen. 2500...  

39mm looks very small in person and doesn't have this movement with the jumping hour. I actually love the bezel on yours. If they made that matte finish ceramic for this it would be perfection!

It looks perfect. i have seen that some watch customizers can sand blast and mattify (excuse me if it is not well written) ceramic inserts. I have thought this in case I can buy a 116600 some day. Best. René

It's 2mm thinner and lighter though. Overall the Omega wears better for me.

Does it bother you (do you notice) that it’s hard to tell the hour hand from the minute hand in the dark on the 2500? ...
