I would keep an eye out for a replacement . . .

 

. . . which could be easier than one might guess, considering the abundance of dials floating around due to scrapping.  Wouldn't bother with another restoration . . . the current dial is obviously refinished, but not distastefully. 

Putting a vintage dial back into circulation would be the right move to make, in my humble opinion.
