You may want to consider taking a class in horology and watch repair before tackling your watch. I know the Emily Griffith Opportunity School in Denver, Colorado, for example, has a clock repair and making class with some emphasis on watch repair too. The gentleman who teaches the class is a local member of the NAWCC, and I know they have a watchmaking school in Pennsylvania. There are many books on watch repair also, just google 'watch repair' or 'watchmaking'. Enjoy! =:^D
