Omega

Kingsrider, glad you like it,...

Kingsrider, glad you like it, it took a long
time to find the right one. if you dont mind the year it was made there are
loads and loads around, but the majority are Frankenwatches or blatant far
eastern fakes with correct movements so be very very very careful. if you like
the watch and dont mind new parts you can buy a completely new one with vintage
movement from watchco in Australia. these watches are recognised by Omega as
correct, can be serviced by omega and are fully water resistant. price wise they
are on a par with a vintage piece, but they lack patina etc.

if you want a vintage one be sure to read every
article on the web about how to spot a fake and even then you'll still have to
be very careful. even Antiquorum sold a fake military issue at the Omegamania
sale! i didnt know about the sale until afterwards and i spotted it in the
catalogue straight away as did many other people, but they still sold it for an
obscene amount.

if you start looking for a vintage piece there
are plenty of us who will help advise you and Bill Sohne our moderator wrote a
very good article on the 300 a few years ago, but even with all the bits of
knowledge put together there are still unanswered questions about certain things
like which hands went with which dial.

good luck and as Bill will say, good
hunting

best
