My old friend Jack used to have a side gig of official “Guardian of the Cup”.
He and the cup got side-by-side first class seats and traveled together from winner to winner.
He told me he "used to be an FBI agent” but his obituary said "Chief of the Criminal Intelligence and Organized Crime Division in Washington, DC”.
After he retired, Jack was offered the opportunity to become the San Diego Yacht Club's goodwill ambassador and security for the Americas Cup Trophy.
For about 5 years he traveled the world displaying the trophy, while keeping it safe.
They didn’t just stuff it into a box and send it Fedex to New Zealand (for example).

I love the Yachting watches. The NZL -32 Regatta watch I owned was a tribute to the New Zealand win in 1995. The holes in the center of the dial would count down to the start by changing color as well... ...

The way to buy this edition is with the bracelet and you also get the blue rubber strap. The Quick-Change system is very good on this watch.
