As far as reading it I always prefer single counters with two hands like any clock. IWC omega excel at this just by glancing looking at the hand position ...

For me horology is defined by accuracy, reliability, comfort (design) and looks! Looks are subjective but comfort, reliability and accuracy are not! Many times I fell into the hype and theory of loving a watch only to be disappointed after owning it! Omeg...

Always been my favorite in the series. Just curious, how often do you use the chronograph, another reason why I haven't got one i that it looks impossible to read the chronograph minute counter at a glance.

I keep coming back to this one.
I have seen this one a few times and have always liked it but thought it is a tad on the large side. I was at a boutique again 2 days ago and tried it on again and I am getting closer and closer to pulling the trigger.
By all reports the cal 9300 movement in your Speedmaster . . .
. . . is a consummate performer. Bulletproof and accurate over the long term, too. My pal's earlier GMT Speedmaster - some twelve years old now - is only beginning to show its age. I'll wager yours will perform similarly well for a decade or longer. Art
I believe that the racing carries the 9900 movement.
But both are powerhouse vertical-clutched column-wheeled co-axial escaped movements
