Omega

To improve on a classic, you would have to have a light touch.

This Omega chrono is great looking and very charming as-is, particularly with the hinged back. It's going to be hard to top, unless the development budget is unlimited and the MSRP is free to move up as necessary. We're lucky though, there are a lot of modern classic chronographs available on the market today - they don't really compete with this Omega but theoretically can be worn with no worries. Thinking of the most recent Montblanc Minerva 13-21 watches in particular.
Omega also did an interesting exercise with some old movements from 1913 recently and the results were quite spectacular, albeit the watch was too large to wear and very expensive. The sunken subdials, extra flash of colour and unlimited MSRP make it possible to improve on a classic.
