Nice gift... Btw, the watch looks really good with this strap and I really prefer this bezel (instead of the bezel of the Seamaster 300 not Spectre version), but not to my taste the lollipop seconds hand. Enjoy, thanks for sharing.

In addition to the Pen did you get the Spectre Handkerchief as well? It's almost too nice to use to blow my nose. Almost.

how does the watch wear? specifically how do you find its thickness? i'm very tempted by it but reading on the internet the thickness dimensions somewhat worry and my question is whether it's suitable for every day wear and would fit under a shirt cuff?

I'm not an expert with long sleeves but I believe that the thickness will not be a problem. It was not to James Bond. Try it to be sure. Cheers, Nilo
