For me it’s quite simple. VERY simple. Too simple?
I just can't get enough satisfaction from just owning something that others badly want but can't easily get.
In this case for my happiness I would always need others who admire or envy me. And if they wouldn’t do that (anymore), then my joy would diminish?
This kind of collecting would be rather sad, wouldn't it?
And so for me it is the easiest strategy to get the most satisfaction and happiness to neglect all the (often artificial) hypes around us and simply acquire what you really like yourself. At least if you are a passionate collector and not (just) chasing the approval and / or money (😎) of others.

I know, your taste is more towards white metal, which I usually prefer, too. But here I like to make an exception (like with the BP FF). The color combination of dial and case has really charm.

Yes, you are right regarding the weight.
And the solid gold folding clasp doesn't make the “overall work of art” any lighter either. But it also makes a significant contribution to wearing comfort. The watch sits really very comfortable on the wrist! ...

I believe a folding buckle they use on several model indeed. My old SpeedMaster had it (a steel version though) and i remember it being super comfortable!
