Hi all,
Some time ago, I shared my decision journey around the 5235R — which I ended up going for, thanks in large part to the encouragement and insight I received here. I still haven’t posted proper photos (I owe you that!), but I truly appreciated the warm welcome from this community.
I’m now exploring something a bit more traditional — a Golden Ellipse to wear with more formal clothing. I generally prefer watches that wear like classic 33mm round dress pieces: restrained, elegant, and understated on the wrist. My wrist is 17cm (6.75"), and that scale tends to suit me best.
That said, I’m unsure where the sweet spot lies with the Ellipse. The earlier, smaller references like the 3548 and 3848 are beautiful — but I wonder whether they might feel too small, even for someone with my sizing preferences. The 3738 is more widely known and appears to wear slightly larger, but I haven't handled any of these in person and would love to understand how they compare in the metal.
If anyone here has experience with either — or ideally both — I’d be grateful for your impressions, photos, and thoughts on how they wear. I’m not looking for wrist presence or movement specs — just proportions that feel timeless and appropriate.
Thanks in advance!
