It's worth getting the bracelet!
I just purchased a 1998 Aquanaut that the previous owner had fitted with a Patek stainless steel bracelet. I'm glad he did, not only because it's beautiful, but because the original tropical "rubber" strap (which he gave me in a small plastic bag) had hardened and become brittle over the years, and was broken into a few pieces. I think the stainless bracelet will be much more durable. The steel bracelet's expensive, but in my opinion, well worth it.

i would go for the PP5167 with rubber strap. I think it is much more interesting than 5711 or 5167 with bracelet.

If you are thinking of buying the rubber strap separately, then you also need to get the deployment clasp. Please make sure you are sitting down too, Cheers !

most versatile sports watch. slim enuf to fit under cuffs, and sporty enuf to be worn with a short sleeve shirt fr the weekends.
Based on your requirements...

Though T. Stern could just wear any Patek in any ocassion, his dressing up with 5167 in a semi public event means something to 5167 owners! Did he go with rubber strap or bracelet? Anyway, we still need a reason for a classic Patek don't we...?...

In truth I think it's a composite strap, not just rubber. But it looked very sharp. Nice to see someone happy to break to the conventions of what you;re "expected" to wear in situations like this.
