Planning to buy a dress watch
Hi all.
First, thank you so much for your time.
I always enjoy looking at people's collections and information about watches. But there is one question I was never able to figure out.
I am a sweaty person, so I always went for a sports watches because it is easier to take care of. What I meant by taking care is about 'cleaning the watch'.
I am a clean freak, I rinse my watch with water everyday after I come home from outside. Now, that was possible because I always had water proof watches.
Not that I don't enjoy sports watches, but I really wanted to have a nice dress watch for a long time to give more harmony on my collection.
So I would like to ask those who own dress watches, about how you usually clean your dress watches after wearing them.
I assume rinsing under water is a terrible idea, but maybe I am wrong?
Please share with me some daily cleaning tips of dress watches so I am prepared before any purchase.

I use a damp microfiber cloth followed by a dry microfiber cloth.
I only ever wore watches on straps in an office setting so not a ton of sweat to damage the leather. The important thing is to make sure the strap is thoroughly dried after cleaning.
Just use it and have fun!!!!!
Dry cloth not much else needed. And when the straps need changing I order custom hand made ones, and not from the watch brand (as they "rob" you). For my most used watches I have various straps, which I change to give the watch a new look.

A watch with a bracelet might just be the best choice given what you are saying (e.g., the new Nautilus PC could easily qualify as a "dress watch"! ), but most of all I'd simply suggest you to wear and enjoy all watches you have without being overly conce...

Chang-Soo Lee, Tough criteria you place on your next 'dress watch'. Washing with water every day is very demanding but if you must...you must. Some brands have extended the definition of 'dress watch' with models that are water resistant and with metal br...
If you are a clean freak , best to use cotton , with water on the sponge up in the cotton to wipe the watch.
From sweat and clean the watch to a shine and wipe with a jewelry cloth. Use a dry cotton to dry the watch. Don't have to submerge the watch in water that way. Hope that helps. Cheers! Geross
