Patek Philippe

Please clarify...

Dear Patek community,

I have a two-fold question, if anyone can shed some light on this topic that would be great,

1. I have recently read that Patek released a digital watch at some point in the 70's (I believe Ref. 3414), does anyone have any pics? Production quantity? Auction appearances?

2. After many months of research, I have finally narrowed the choice for my first Patek (World Time 5130R), but today (only days before my purchase) I was seriously disheartened because I was told that the new deployment buckle is no longer the circular calatrava logo.  I have not been able to find what the new deployment buckle looks like and would love to see a picture if anyone has one.  Does anyone know why the change? Did PP offer an explanation? Is the change only reflected in this model, or all 2006 onward models? Are they going back to the original buckle anytime soon? Would you consider buying an after-market calatrava buckle and interchanging it with the original, or is that a silly idea from both a value and originality perspective?

It has been their symbol for many years and changing such a hallmark is pretty strange... anyway what do I know, I am still a newbie to PP wink

Any light that can be shed is much appreciated.

Thanks

AK
