I must say though that I like my old clasp design for thinness and comfort - not sure the new version is as comfortable...

My previous gen closure is thin, secure and comfortable for sure. My 5712/1A has a tight deployant buckle - requiring a good amount of pressure at the correct angle to release the first half of the buckle and then I can wriggle it into a position to apply...

For whatever it's worth (or not), my 5726/1A has the new clasp and I find that the outer corners on the inside portion tend to cut into my wrist. I do not
have this issue on my 5164A which also has the new style clasp. No issues with the old style.
