Patek Philippe: Great post and comparison! Like you I wanted to love the 6196P, but in person it fell flat. I found it to be a little dull. For me it needed something more

Eg Breguet numerals - something. On the other hand, in person, the 5227G did not disappoint. More interesting case and dial. Beautiful watch. Very appealing.

Patek Philippe: Assuming price was not a factor - From an overall aesthetics and wearability standpoint, I would go with 5970J. But if I were to focus on the super complication housed in a platinum case

clearly with the 2499 DNA, I might overlook the somewhat rather thick 5004 case and choose that. 5270J, a very nice watch, but in this group a distant 3rd.

Patek Philippe: For me the Patek ACs going back to the original 5035 introduced in the mid 1990s represent the best of Patek - quite complicated, very practical, relatively reasonable in price

(or at least they used to be😊) and very attractive and comfortable to wear. The 5396 whose historical antecedent is the the legendary 2497 is to me at the very top in the AC lineage. Having tried on the sunburst sand beige dial, I can only say if one is looking for a RG 5396 this is a seriously beau
