I don’t think it’s an age thing as I distinctly remember wanting a 5196 for a very long time. Just had so many other watches which always somehow got in the way. Wrongly so I may add.
For me this is and will always be what Patek are about.

Wore my 5196P at a black tie event this weekend
Yes, it felt right, but then I wore it with jeans and a T-Shirt and it felt GREAT! I expect to wear jeans and a T-Shirt much more often these days (they fit better, too😁) so I expect to keep pace with the 5196P as well.
