Patek Philippe

Another question....

Thanks for your honest response. I was unaware that without the rhodium plating process, the white gold would not shine.

I also understand that rhodium plating should not be an issue, but, at the same price, I could purchase a 5107 in rg or yg, and can rest assured, that if I do decide to give it to family later in life, that it wouldn't need any replating. I may be able to enjoy the watch for 10, 20 years, but eventually, it will have to be replated.

I am not familiar with the plating process, and am curious to why replating is necessary. Does it eventually wear from friction, sweat, or contact?

I agree that I may be short sighted, but I am also guilty of being long sighted.

Is there any other material that eventually needs to be replated?

I appreciate your feedback and honesty. Thank you very much,

Regards,

Kevin
