After 25 years of wearing a Rolex Submariner....I bought my first Patek 2 years.....the Calatrava 3919R. Recently though......I began to be interested in vintage Pateks.....particularly Calatravas....and so began a search for the 'desirable' model..... Af...

I can see why you love it more than the 3919. There is something about the appearance of the vintage watches that the modern pieces just don't seem to have. Big difference from a submariner!! Congratulations on your latest edition!

Thanks for the warnings Iceman and watch-guy......:-) I suspect that you're both vintage Patek owners and know the 'bug' is contagious and hard to fight off? I can only try? :-)

One question I hope someone may be able to help with? When I was searching for a 1491.....I looked at photos of the movement of a dozen prospective watches. None had the Geneva Seals except the one I bought..... Considering that all the watches I looked a...

And none of them had the Geneva Seals. So it's puzzling to see yours has them and so does mine........? Hopefully someone will shed some light? I didn't realise that you also had a Ref 1491? It would be nice to see some shots? :-)

It looks beautiful watch-guy.....and the dial looks like it might be original? I particularly like this model with the sweep 'seconds' hand in 'blue'..... Hard to find these in such great condition. Congratulations and wear it in health...

It seems that no-one can answer the question about Geneva Seals......? But with vintage Pateks......I can't seem to find a source of accurate information to help in the restoration of pieces... or aid the ability of 'fans' to recognise authentic restorati...

For sale in my searches. Looks like a beautiful sample in great condition....... I wonder if and how......Patek would ever do a new dial for those special Tiffany models?

common,,,,that being we both own the Calatrava 3919......you have wonderful taste..Artistically ,,and proportionately the 3919 fits your wrist PERFECTLY.....thats what drew me to my watch....Please enjoy your masterpiece,,and good luck with it............... 

Thank you Mark for the compliments :-) I am lucky that I have a small wrist so that the 34mm diameter of the 3919 does not look so small? I fantasize that some time in the future......when the world is tired of seeing giant oversize 45mm watches with meta...
