I guess it depends where you where the watch but (please forgive me Spanish purists) I have heard of too many pick pocketing and theft incidents in Madrid.

October with my 5164, but under the cuff at all times. I was out till late but with locals and with no issues. As in all big cities, try to avoid crowds... Safe travels nonetheless.
