Found the same dial on another 2nd series Patek 3940 in 1988
Found it on another Patek 3940G model on Christies auction - a 2nd series 1988 P3940G whose movement number is 771 477 which is quite close to mine.
Interesting dial variation - Could be a transitional dial used between the 2nd series and the 3rd series model.

Yea. The minute track has 2 additional dots on top of the sigma logo which I’ve not seen or at least seen on any internet posting. Interesting story of how I got this watch. The Patek 3940 was and still is the holy grail for me and I always wanted a Patek...

First and second series 3940’s had the sigma Swiss mark sitting just below the minute dots (but the dots were not continuous) and the third series 3940’s had them “in-line” with the minute dots. I’ve seen many 3940’s in all metals and all production years...
