Getting into the Patek world
So I've always wanted to get a Patek since I started my journey in the horological world. Back then my choice was between VC 85180 rg and Patek 5119R, I bought the former as I think it's much more to my taste than the 5119.
Fast forward I've learned so much more about horology, things I haven't considered before Eg the size of the calibre which is a concern on both the 85180 and 5119 are now part of my considerations when choosing a watch. The 5119 still interests me (5116 even more so given its enamel) but that calibre makes me hesitate so damn much.
Then comes the 6119R. Its everything I wanted, a modern patek calatrava with a new calibre and a design that attracts me so much (maybe an enamel dial, but I guess these days enamel will fetch astronomical prices). In the watch circle I'm at Lange is all the fire, it's almost like no brands do dress watch better than lange and no calibre is better than langes. And of course there's that thread here that absolutely destroys patek for a under-finished new movement. All these makes me hesitate so much but when I saw it in person, I know this is the one for me.

I hope I don't regret it. I guess I realise the technical issues of 6119 and the price charged for this is slightly high especially with Lange competing so fiercely, but I'm just going to indulge in this moment with my grail.

buy what you like and what you rocks your boat. Ignore the reviews and the 'experts'. You are the best expert when it comes to expending your hard earned money. The 6119 is a good watch if you have a large enough wrist to wear it. The long lugs coupled by...
