Actually as much as I love this piece, I am contemplating for my father to commemorate a distinctive milestone. He introduced me to the world of horology when he gave me and my 2 cousins our first 'real' watches, A Zenith El Primero. This was maybe a decade ago, and since then I have been hooked. He is someone that has always looked at value and functionality. I think the 6102 is one of the first watches I have noticed that he judges it for its beauty and (almost) disregards the price.
I think I am leaning towards the Platinum. The rarity and preciousness of platinum, coupled with occasional flashes of the mesmerizing blue, I think it very much suits the occasion. Here's to hoping he will let me wear it once in a while if were able to snag one for him

You can't of course be wrong with either version of a 6102, they are at the very top of their game. But if I have to choose, personally I'd lean towards the P -- the rarity factor, the more noble metal for such a special piece, and in the end only a $23k ...
