Yes, even mine (well I've got two, one of my 5146J and I bought a RG deployant for my 5127R) snap with a sharp click, I always check for that first.
Only point to note, @akitaishi - when you're snapping it closed don't apply too much pressure on the Calatrava emblem; try and place the pressure on the 'outer' rim. The Emblem is only mounted in four spots, and I've read on some forums in the past, on 'some occasions, for some owners' they've had these pop-off - but then I'm sure they've been placing far too much pressure on something not designed to be treated in such a manner.
I have about 1cm of the strap that gets tucked; I use this small 'flap' to help with opening the deployant, without jerking the movement as much as possible.

Better Calatrava Deployant replacement?
I normally don't mess with my watches but I could not help noticing Patek's deployant (with calatrava cross) is actually not very well designed. There are several likely points of failures and it is not very secured. I just don't trust my watches with it....

pin popping out
My greatest fear is the little pin that goes thru the hole on the strap popping out.

Goodwill, I think your fear is only well founded if you enlarge the hole by repeatedly inserting and removing the pin from the strap. If you put in the correct hole once and never remove it, the risk should be minimal. If the pin is already loose, a strap...

Patek deployants do not have a good track record...

Easy Fix
Just take it back to the AD. A jeweler ... or even less ... can simply tighten. It takes all of 3 seconds.
