Honestly, I would see two...
THE Nautilus is the 3700, the original, for me.
If I got to go for a modern, I would go for the epitome of the modern Nautilus, the 5980.
I had the 5712, and sold it to fund the 5070. A very nice watch, but I got tired of setting the moonphase each time I wanted to put it on my wrist, after the watch stopped.
The 5711 is cool, but I can't live with these big luminova green indexes.
The 5980 is fun, big, original, and its monocounter is really cool. The Epitome of the modern Nautilus, in my opinion.
