So this has been bugging me for a few years now and since 5230G is a VERY nice watch I need to be educated. Are all the cities present on the dial switching between summer/winter time? Or only some of them, meaning that effectively some of the timezones a... 

I believe JLC does, with little "sun" icons next to each city that adjusts.

I guess while practical it will not sit well with the way Patek designs the dials - I agree the 5230G looks much 'cleaner'. But also this will be outdated as well - Paris, London, and Athens are all on the dial with Summer/Winter settings, which will beco... 

Brietling does the same. And as others have pointed out, countries aren’t even aligned on the day they do the switch. I like the VC overseas world timer. IMHO it’s pretty and functional

That's what i have been told when i picked up mine in Paris (and yes France is switching between Summer and Winter times). If i recall well the dial / hour disk is made for winter time and indeed might have 1 hour issue during summer. I believe Patek will... 

To have the situation cleared at least in respect to Europe.

But if you want to be accurate you would need to take account of the fact that the DST changes are not all made on the same day - so even if you had a dogs dinner of a dial that allowed for all the time zones (of which there are more than 24) and also DST... 

We are very critical when it comes to the accuracy of watches. We look at small fine details of watches in depth. Movement edges sharpness, font ink etc etc! And yet nearly everybody is fine with a watch that is wrong 50% of the time!! It would kill me! T...

The watch will be off for certain time zones that participate in DSL. This complication came out in 1937 and I believe they want to stay with the historically accurate version of their world timer.
